Welcome to The Center for Restorative Reproductive Surgery in Atlanta

Angela K. in Georgia

“Our fertility journey has been a difficult one, but we are grateful that through this experience we have met you and your team. I could not ask for a better surgeon. Your kindness and compassion gave me the courage and the strength to get through my first surgery! I will always remember the moment that you prayed with me in the pre-op room.”Read More

“I am so grateful that I have found you and you were able to help me. I am looking forward to living a pain-free life. No words can describe how grateful I am but just know I am thankful for you everyday here on out. Please tell everyone in your office they were amazing to work with and made everything go so smoothly, especially being out of state. Thanks for everything.”Read More

“As my 2-year ”surgiversary” approaches, I wanted to send a big Thank You. I have come across many doctors and I must say no one compares to you. You treated me with such kindness and respect. You never doubted my pain! You validated me! Even at my post-op check you took my hands and told me I was going to be OK. You probably don’t remember but I was a complete mess – my anxiety was out of control. You listened and heard. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for changing my life.”Read More

“How can I ever ever thank you enough for all you have done for me. Not only are you an expert doctor meticulous in your field, but you have been so kind, patient, understanding and thoughtful. You have given me the time needed to comprehend the entire process of my surgery from the beginning to the end. You have validated all my concerns, worries and suspicions. You have given me my life back and I will never forget you as long as I live.”Read More

“I can’t express to you how thankful I am to be getting this chance at not living in pain. Instead of being content with the standard ineffective treatments for this condition, you’ve invested the time and effort to truly deliver the best treatment for women. Thank you so much for applying your talent and time to this occupation.”Read More

Endometriosis Excision Surgery

Endometriosis is far more common than you might think – the disease affects 176 million women worldwide (nearly 1 out of every 10 women). The two main symptoms of endometriosis are pelvic pain and infertility.

The average time-to-diagnose for endometriosis is a shocking 8 years. Unfortunately, many current treatments focus on medicines that suppress (or mask) the disease rather than removing the disease. With endometriosis, this disease almost always persists, even when treated with medicines.

By excising (‘excision’ = to cut out) the endometriosis, the disease is literally removed altogether, providing long-lasting pain relief and restoring fertility. Surgery is performed with tiny incisions, and recovery is usually a short two weeks for most patients.

Restorative Reproductive Surgery

Common treatments for many gynecological conditions unfortunately focus on the suppression of abnormal function. Additionally, current treatments for infertility focus on the bypassing of abnormal function. These methods do not often last and rarely address the primary causes. Instead, they mask the underlying disease process. The CRRS has a more involved approach.

The CRRS

Restorative reproductive surgery at The CRRS will focus on evaluating for and treating of the root causes of disease – and then restoring the original reproductive function. In this way, patients not only feel better, but live better because their reproductive health is restored.

Fertility Enhancing Surgery

Surgery is not often discussed today as an option in evaluating for and resolving infertility. It is equally disheartening to witness women undergo years of infertility treatments without exploring surgery to help diagnose and treat the cause of their infertility. It’s important to keep in mind that some abnormal fertility function can only be restored with surgery.

Highly potent fertility stimulation drugs do make an underlying disease process (e.g. endometriosis) progress at a higher rate, further decreasing the likelihood of pregnancy. Additionally, a woman’s ovarian reserve decreases with each passing year.

Fertility enhancing surgery at The CRRS begins with a full surgical evaluation of infertility.

There are not enough words to describe how amazing Dr. K is. He is patient, kind, detailed and caring. He prayed with my husband and I before surgery and was always available for questions. He successfully removed the endometriosis that was wreaking havoc on my life and he and his team have remained a guiding support in our fertility journey. I will forever be grateful to him and his dedication to women's reproductive health!

I had my surgery with Dr. Nicolas Kongoasa July 17th 2019. I had excision surgery for siege to endometriosis, to utreme fibroids, and while he was in there he found an Allen-Masters defect. He is absolutely the best! I was absolutely terrified of having surgery and he held my hand and he prayed with me before I went back into the OR and they were very nice to be at Northside hospital where my procedure was done. As an uninsured patient I submitted all my financial documents with the hospital to get pre-approved for a financial assistance, and my clients Rose $500 to lock in my surgery date. My hair clients are the best and I'm eternally grateful for their help! Family friends etc help me to pay for the surgery and 2 years 3 months later I'm still going strong and don't have the boiling water feeling in my abdomen anymore. Still have work to do with a pelvic floor specialist but I was able to have some relief from the surgery he performed! I'm so very grateful and so is my mom and dad. Thank you guys so much!

Dr. Kongoasa is absolutely amazing. After years of suffering from Endometriosis, I finally found a doctor that listened and cared! I had surgery with him on December 14th, and after 4 previously failed surgeries (all ablation) I am finally on the path of healing and living again! I am forever grateful for how Dr. Kongoasa has helped me and all that he has done!
